Selected Finom card plans include embedded insurance at no extra cost.
If you have an eligible Prime or Metal card, your card comes with an insurance package that helps protect you against fraud, theft, and emergencies while you're abroad. Metal cards also include additional coverage for business travel and rental vehicles.
Insurance is provided by our insurance partner Owen, with emergency phone assistance abroad handled by Allianz.
Who can use Finom Insurance
Insurance availability depends on your card benefit program and your company's registration country.
Country eligibility
Insurance is currently available for companies registered in Germany, France, or Italy.
Eligibility is based on your company's country of registration — not on where you personally live. If your company is registered outside these countries, insurance is not available yet.
Card benefit program eligibility
Standard
Insurance benefits are not included. If you'd like insurance coverage, consider upgrading to a Prime or Metal card.
Prime
Includes the Prime Insurance Package:
Fraud & Theft protection: loss or theft of ID documents, fraudulent use of your card, phishing
Assistance services abroad: repatriation assistance, medical expenses abroad, presence of a relative at your bedside / extension of stay, legal assistance and bail bond
Metal
Includes everything in the Prime package, plus:
Business travel protection: trip cancellation, trip modification, travel delay or cancellation by the carrier, delayed luggage, lost/stolen/damaged luggage, ski accident rescue
Rental vehicle coverage: rental car deductible for damages and theft
Coverage is attached to each eligible card individually. If you have both a Prime and a Metal card, each card has its own separate insurance policy.
How do I activate my insurance?
Insurance is included with your eligible card, but it is not activated automatically — you need to enroll first. You will never be enrolled without your explicit confirmation.
To enroll:
Open the Cards section in your Finom account (app or web).
Select Insurance.
Complete the short onboarding to learn what your package includes, key conditions, and how claims work.
Confirm your enrollment.
💡 Your coverage starts immediately after you confirm enrollment. Incidents that happened before your enrollment are not covered.
If you have both a Prime and a Metal card, you can enroll each card separately into its own package.

💡 Each coverage has specific limits, conditions, exclusions, deadlines, and required documents. Always review the coverage details in your Finom account before relying on a benefit.
How do I check what I'm covered for?
In your Finom account:
Open the Cards section.
Select Insurance.
Browse the insurance benefits available for your card benefit program.
Open a benefit to view: what is covered and the coverage limit; key conditions and exclusions; claim deadlines and required documents; where to submit the claim.
If a benefit is not included in your current card benefit program, you can still view information about it and learn which program includes it.
How do I make a claim?
There are two claim routes, depending on the type of incident.
Online claims — Owen customer space
For most claims — fraud, phishing, ID document loss/theft, trip cancellation or modification, travel delays, luggage, ski accident rescue, and rental vehicle incidents:
Open the relevant insurance benefit in the Finom app or web version.
Review the coverage details, claim deadlines, and required documents.
Select Start a claim. You'll be redirected to the Owen customer space — our insurance partner's secure claims portal.
Complete the claim form and submit the required documentation (for example, a police report, proof of purchase, travel tickets, invoices, or delay certificates).
Phone assistance — Allianz
For emergencies abroad — medical expenses, repatriation, early return, presence of a relative at your bedside, and legal assistance — call the Allianz assistance line as soon as possible: +33 (0)1 70 39 12 19
Allianz coordinates the assistance directly (for example, its doctors evaluate the situation together with the local physician and organize repatriation if needed).
Claims are reviewed and decided by the insurance providers, not by Finom. Finom guides you to the correct claim route and can provide supporting documents where the provider requires them.
Important information
Insurance is available only if your company is registered in Germany, France, or Italy, and only with eligible Prime and Metal cards.
Coverage is linked to each individual card. If you have both a Prime and a Metal card, each card has its own insurance policy. When submitting a claim, make sure you select the correct insured card.
Coverage starts only after you complete enrollment. Incidents before enrollment are not covered.
Assistance services apply to trips of up to 90 days.
Some benefits apply only if you used your insured card to pay for the related purchase or trip. For example, travel insurance requires that the trip be paid for with the insured card.
Your coverage ends if your card is blocked, expires, or is closed, or if it no longer includes Prime or Metal insurance benefits (for example, after downgrading your plan or changing to a tariff that does not include insurance). However, you can still submit a claim for an incident that happened while your coverage was active.
Insurance cannot currently be canceled separately while keeping an eligible card.
Coverage is subject to the provider's terms, limits, exclusions, timing requirements, and claim review. Always review the applicable policy terms before submitting a claim.
For the most accurate information about your coverage, open the Insurance section in your Finom account and review the benefit details for your card.
