This article contains detailed instructions for connecting and uploading receipts using the DATEV Belegbilderservice through FINOM accounts.
Step 1: What is the DATEV Receipt Service and First Steps
With the DATEV Receipt Service, you can upload receipts and documents to DATEV Unternehmen Online (Accounting System). This ensures that your tax advisor has direct access to the receipts and can manage your bookkeeping. The prerequisite is that your tax advisor has activated DATEV Unternehmen Online (DUO) for you and that you have linked DUO with your FINOM account.
First, you need to connect the DATEV Receipt Service to your FINOM account.
Contact your tax advisor and request their advisor number and client number under which your advisor manages you or your company. You will need this information during the setup process.
Additionally, you will need access to the DATEV SmartLogin (an app on your smartphone). This can also be obtained and set up through your tax advisor.
Once ready, log in to your FINOM account.
If you are not using the FINOM app, please proceed as follows:
Click "I have problems with the confirmation"
If you have not received a code, select “I didn't get a code on my phone.”
Then, enter the code you received via SMS on your phone.
Step 2: Connecting to DATEV Receipt Service and Uploading
1. In your FINOM account, click on your company name, and go to “Integrations.”
2. Select “DATEV Belegbilderservice” in the next step.
3. Click “Connect.”
4. Enter the advisor number of your tax advisor and the client number under which they manage you.
Specify the date from which you want to export receipts to DATEV and click “Continue”
5. Choose “DATEV SmartLogin” and log in using your SmartLogin app on your smartphone. You should have already set this up with your tax advisor.
6. Confirm that you grant FINOM the necessary permissions to access the DATEV service by clicking “I agree.”
The DATEV Receipt Service is now set up, and you can upload receipts to DATEV Unternehmen Online. This ensures your tax advisor has direct access and can manage your bookkeeping.
You will know the setup was successful when the “Disconnect” option is available under “Integrations.”
Step 3: Uploading Receipts to DATEV
1. From the main dashboard, switch from “Money” to “Documents” and click “Upload document.”
2. Select the receipt you want to upload. It does not matter whether you choose an invoice or a receipt.
3. Specify the type of receipt, whether it is an incoming or outgoing invoice, and fill in the additional information about the receipt. Click “Confirm Details.”
4. Once the receipt is uploaded, you can find it in the “Documents” section, separated into “Outgoing” or “Incoming.”
5. Click the receipt, and next to “Download,” select the three dots to use the DATEV Receipt Service for upload. Click “Export.”
6. Choose the Receipt Service again and click “Export” once more.
All necessary steps are now completed.
Your tax advisor will find your receipt in the inbox of DATEV Unternehmen Online, which you previously set up.
