How to set up limits for SEPA Instant payments with your Finom account?

SEPA Instant payments are processed within seconds. This makes them much harder — and sometimes impossible — to cancel or refund once sent.

By setting a limit, you add an extra layer of protection against sending too much by mistake or falling victim to fraud.

With your Finom account, you can decide how much you want to send via SEPA Instant from each Finom EUR wallet. This limit helps you stay in control of your Instant transfers and can be set either as a per transfer limit or as a daily limit.

💡 Transfers between Finom clients are not subject to this limit.

How do I set up the Instant limit for a wallet?

You can set or change the limit at any time — both from the web version and the mobile app:

1. From the main dashboard, click on the “Home” tab. Open any of your local Finom EUR wallets (e.g. Main). Go to Limits & Settings.

2. Click on “Set limit” in the section “Custom SEPA Instant limit”.

3. Choose whether you want to set a per transfer limit or a daily limit and enter your limit. When you're finished, click on “Save”.

💡 The maximum per-transfer limit is EUR 100,000 according to Finom’s policies.

If you try to make an Instant transfer above your limit, you’ll see a notification during the payment process. If you schedule a payment that exceeds your daily limit, it will be declined automatically on the execution date.

Who can set up and manage the Instant limit for a wallet?

  • Account Owner: Always has full access to all wallets and can change settings for themselves and for other teammates.

  • Manager: Can manage limits only for the wallets they have access to (as defined by the Account Owner). A Manager can also change wallet settings for other teammates — except for the Account Owner

If you don’t see the option to manage Instant limits, it means:

  • You are a Manager without access to that specific wallet.

  • In this case, please contact the Account Owner to check and update your wallet access.
