The registration- and verification process consists of 5 stages:
Stage 1: Add info about your business
Stage 2: Check company details
Stage 3: Declare owners and representatives
Stage 4: Verify identities
Stage 5: Complete application
You will be automatically redirected to the next part once the previous one is completed.
Once you have completed a part, you have the option to return to the previous part at any time during the process if you need to edit or change some information.
Step 1. Start by entering your company name or registration number in the box, and it should present you with a list of names to choose from. If your company is here, click on it. If you cannot find your company in this list, you can still continue by selecting the "ENTER MANUALLY" option located at the bottom.
As soon as you have clicked on it, the page will immediately appear where you have to enter the name of your company again:
Step 1.1 You will then have to confirm your mobile number by entering it and clicking on "Confirm" to receive the confirmation code. Here you can also decide whether you want to receive notifications from us via WhatsApp by ticking the box under your mobile number or leaving it blank.
Once you have entered the confirmation code sent by SMS to the number you entered, you can click on "Continue" to go to the next step.
Step 1.2 In this step, you will be asked to select the product you want to use. Kindly note that the free invoicing function will be activated automatically. To open a business account, click on "Open now":
Step 2: In this step you will be asked to enter the following information about your company: Company name, trade register number and registration district. Once this is entered, click "Continue" to continue.
Note: If the trade register number is not correct, you will receive a notification in red and stay on this page until it is entered correctly.
Step 3. You will then be asked to select which industry your company belongs to from the drop-down list, and also to add a brief description in the "Business purpose" section. When you have finished, click on "Continue" to continue.
Note: At the top of the page, you can see where you are on each of the steps to track your progress.
Step 3.1. Next, you will be asked to answer a few more questions about your business:
Step 4. Start typing your address into the field, and it should then offer you a list of addresses to choose from. When you select an address from the list displayed, all fields will be filled in automatically.
Please check carefully and click "Continue" if this is correct.
Step 5. The part "Check company details" is now completed. You will then be taken to the next step, "Declare owners and representatives".
First confirm if you are a legal representative and if so, proceed to step 6. If you are not a legal representative, you will then be taken to step 5a.
Step 5a. If you are not a legal representative, you will be informed that a legal representative can only open a business account for the company.
Step 6: If you are the only legal representative, confirm your name and click "Continue" to proceed to step 7. You also have the option to add another legal representative for your company by selecting "+ ADD LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE" (steps 6a-6b).
Step 6a. After you have selected the option "+ ADD LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE", a small window will open asking you to enter the first and last name of another legal representative. After entering the name, select the "Add" button to continue.
Step 6b. After filling in the form, you will be shown the screen with legal representatives. Here you can see your name and also the newly added person. You also have the option to delete a legal representative from here, if necessary, or to continue adding another representative.
Step 7. You can select the beneficial owner(s) from the list provided (if yes, proceed to step 8), or you can also add additional beneficial owners by clicking on "ADD BENEFICIAL OWNER" (step 7a).
Step 7a. When you click on "ADD BENEFICIAL OWNER", the window below will appear where you can add all the necessary information. Click on "Add" when you are done.
Step 8: If you select each name here, you will be asked to enter the percentage of voting shares each person owns within the company. Click "Continue" to continue.
*Note: Here you should enter a person who:
owns more than 25% of the shares in the company directly or through ownership of shares in the parent company;
owns more than 25% of the total voting rights;
expresses control over a board of directors and can make important decisions for a company.*
Step 9: Next, you will be asked to confirm whether any of the owners and agents in your business are US taxpayers or citizens. If NO, proceed to step 10, if YES, you will be taken to step 9a.
Step 9a. You will be redirected to a message informing you that we cannot open an account for you due to the FATCA agreement.
Step 10: You will now set up your profile and be asked to select your tariff plan.
By clicking on "Change plan" you can make the best decision for what suits you and your business.
Step 11. Finally, you will be asked to accept the legal terms and conditions. Tick all three checkboxes and then click the "Agree and accept" button to complete the process and move on to the next part.
Step 12. Here you will be asked to verify the information about all legal representatives for identification. Click on the first member (if more than one) to confirm the personal details.
Step 13: If all data is correct, click on "Continue":
Step 14: Next you will be asked to enter the personal address of this person. After entering the address, click on "Confirm".
Step 15. Here, you will need to enter the email address of the person who will go through the identification process to receive the personal link to access the identification chat. When you are done, click on "Send link & Continue".
Step 16. You will then return to the previous screen and can follow the same steps for other legal representatives. Here you can also see whether your colleague has already started the identification process or not.
Note 1: When you check your personal data, you will see the following fields:
Note 2: Next you will be asked to confirm your address. Here you have the option to either add your personal address or use your business address instead.
Note 3: When you start your personal identification, the following screen will be displayed where you need to enter the confirmation code sent to you via SMS to proceed to the next step:
After entering the confirmation code, you will be redirected to a page where you click on "Finish the application" to choose between Bankident and IDNow.
To verify with Bankident, enter your German IBAN from another bank and click "Continue". Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the verification successfully. If you need any clarification, you can contact us via the chat.
If something goes wrong with the Bankident verification, or you don't have an IBAN that the system accepts, you can always have yourself verified via video chat with an IDNow employee. To complete this, you need to select the option "I don't want to use my IBAN for verification".
You will then be redirected to the page where you can select how you want to verify yourself, using the app or the web browser.
If you select the option "Continue in web browser", you will be redirected to the following screen, where you have to click on "Continue & Start Identification" to be redirected to the website of IDNow - our partner for identification processes.
Step 17. We are almost done! We will then recommend you to install our mobile app. Click on "Send a link to my phone" to download and install our app.
Step 18. You will then be redirected back to the main dashboard. Once the verification process is complete (it should take no longer than 4-5 business days), you can use all the features we offer!
As soon as all checks have been completed, you will be notified by email and in the app.
