When you signed up for your Finom account, you were asked to select your type of activity from either:

  • Freelancer

  • Company

The difference between these two types of activities is not relevant to the use of Finom itself, but instead determines how you are identified as a taxpayer. In fact, you are liable to taxes both as a natural and as a legal person. The only difference being, if you are a freelancer or self-employed you are liable to pay taxes as a natural person while if you are an owner of a company taxes will be applied to you as a legal person.

Therefore, when you select your type of activity on Finom, it will distinguish how your VAT will appear on the invoice that we will transmit to the SDI.

In case you make a mistake in selecting the “right” activity, or you need to change your activity at any point in time, we will tell you how to “fix” or “change” it in this article.

  1. First, click on your name in the top-right, and go to settings.

2. From there, click on "business profile" section.

3. Next, click on the "edit profile" button.

4. Here, you can then select the business type you want to apply, either Freelancer or Company.

5. Click the one you want and press the button "Save".

Now, this has been changed and you're all set!
