What is liveness?
Liveness is a biometric system which verifies the identity of a person trying to open an account with FINOM, in real time. From February 2021, all new and existing FINOM users will have to complete this ID Verification process in order to successfully open an account with us.
Identity verification is the third step of our onboarding process, and should take only 2 minutes to complete. Remember, only the Legal Representatives of the company are required to go through this stage.
Once you have entered your address, you will be redirected to the identity verification stage. You will receive a link to complete the process from your mobile.

What ID documents will be required?
You only require one of the below ID documents:
For French citizens - we accept French passport or ID card.
For EU citizens - we currently accept the passport of the following EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic. Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
For non-EU citizens - you will be required to provide your French Residence Permit.
What will I need to do?
1 . You will have to present your ID to the camera. First, you will have to display the front of your ID, and then tilt it slowly, from left to right. This process will have to be repeated twice - once for the front, and once for the back.
2 . You will then have to present your face to the camera. First, you will have to keep your face centered in front of the camera, and then move it slowly from left to right until you are presented with a green tick.
If you stopped at any time during the process, you’ll have to click on the “Identity Verification” step on your main dashboard, to begin this stage again.
From here, you will see the message “Let’s verify your identity in 2 minutes”. Click on the red button “Start” at the bottom of the page.
Important points to remember..
1. Don’t forget to grant the access to your camera :
Before starting the Liveness check, you need to grant access to your camera. If the access is not granted, a message will appear on your screen to guide you through how to do this. Once the access to your camera has been granted, you will be able to continue the verification process.
Also, if this scenario does happen to you, don’t forget to refresh the page after granting the access. You have to do it by clicking on the button that will appear on your screen. If you refresh the page without clicking on the specific button, the access settings will not be properly updated.
2. Be sure the quality of your camera is correct :
Please ensure the quality of your camera is sufficient to complete this process. If the quality of your camera is low, it is more likely that your Liveness verification may fail.
You must ensure that we can see your face and ID details clearly. We recommend that you progress through Liveness in a location that is not too dark, nor too bright, as it could affect the quality of your scans.
3. Don't hesitate to change your mobile phone
We advise you to do this process from your mobile phone for a better experience.
It is important to follow these tips as you will only be able to have 3 Liveness attempts. If your Liveness verification fails, we will not be able to open a business account for you.
