A delivery note is a document that accompanies a shipment of goods. It provides a list of the products and quantity of the goods included in the delivery.

In this article, we will show you how to create a delivery note with FINOM.

To start creating your delivery note, firstly click on the red button on the left" New document" from the main dashboard.

A pop-up window will appear and from here you will have the ability to select the option "Delivery note".

As soon as this option is selected, you will then be redirected to the page where you can insert the data for your delivery note.

As you can see, the layout is the same as an invoice, with the only difference being the word "delivery note" being displayed at the top-left side of the document.

Here are some things to notice:

  • In this document, you won't find a due date, but a delivery date. In this field, you will have to insert the date on which the delivery of the goods is expected.

  • Fill this page in the same way you would complete an invoice, but you can also insert in the "Terms&notes" field the data about the shipment, such as the name of the transporter.

  • It is important to note that the numbering of delivery notes can differ from the numbering of invoices or quotes. This means that you can apply the number you prefer to your delivery note, even if you have already used that same number for an invoice or quote.

Once you have completed all fields, click on "Save" located in the top-right corner.

The delivery note can also be created directly from a quote. If a quote has been approved and the goods are ready to be shipped, click on the quote for which you'd like to generate the delivery note. The delivery note that you'll generate will come pre-filled with the same data you've inserted previously in the quote.

Once the delivery note is saved, it is ready to be sent! If you'd like to share it in a digital format, click on "Send document".

Here you will find different options:

  • Send the delivery note via email

  • Share it via Messenger, WhatsApp, or Telegram

  • Copy sharable link

The delivery note can also be attached physically to the shipment. If you want to do that, click on the three dots, and then choose if you want to download a copy as PDF to print it, or if you would like to print it directly from FINOM.

Great! Now you are ready to create your first delivery note! 😀
