How Finom communicates with you

How to know it's really us — and what to do if it's not

Finom does NOT have a call center, a phone support line, or a publicly listed phone number.

The only situation in which Finom will ever call you is if you and Finom agreed on a call through the in-app chat. If you did not arrange a call in the Finom app and someone phones you claiming to be from Finom — hang up immediately. It is a scam.

Why this matters

Scammers pretend to be banks to steal your money and personal data. This article explains exactly how Finom contacts you — so you can always tell the difference.

Finom's official communication channels are the in-app chat and email (from @finom.co or @finom.me domains).

Phone calls — only if you and Finom agreed on this through the in-app chat first.

Red flags: how to spot a scammer

If any of the following happens, you are dealing with a scammer — not Finom:

  • Someone calls you claiming to be from Finom — and you did not arrange a call through the in-app chat

  • Someone asks for your password, PIN, or SMS verification code — by phone, email, or any other channel

  • Someone pressures you to act urgently or threatens to block your account

  • You find a "Finom phone number" or "Finom office" on Google, Google Maps, or any other directory — these are always fake

  • Someone offers you a mortgage or real estate loan on behalf of Finom

  • Someone contacts you via WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or any messaging app without a prior arrangement in the in-app chat

  • Someone gives you a "Finom phone number", "Finom hotline", "Security Service", or "Support Service" to call

  • Someone asks you to download software or install a screen-sharing app

  • Someone asks you to click a link in an SMS

  • Someone asks you to forward personal documents by email

If in doubt — open the Finom app and check. Real alerts from Finom are always visible in your app notifications or in the in-app chat. If you arranged a call with Finom, you will see the confirmation in the chat.

1. Phone calls

Finom does not have a call center, a phone support line, or a publicly listed phone number. You cannot call Finom. The only situation in which Finom may call you is when you and Finom agreed on a call through the in-app chat.

A call from Finom is legitimate only if all of these are true:

— You and Finom agreed on a call through the in-app chat

— You can see the confirmation of the call in the chat

— The call arrives at the exact scheduled time

If any of these conditions are missing, the call is not from Finom.

Finom will NEVER do the following by phone

No matter the circumstances — even during a legitimate scheduled call — Finom will never:

  • Ask for your password, PIN, SMS verification code, or passkey confirmation

  • Ask for your card number, CVV, or full account details

  • Ask you to install software, share your screen, or download any app

  • Pressure you into making an urgent payment or transfer

  • Call you about a "suspicious transaction" or "security alert"

  • Claim to be from a "fraud prevention department", "security team", "Security Service", "Support Service", or any similar unit

  • Tell you that your account has been compromised and demand immediate action

  • Give you a phone number to call back

Received an unexpected call claiming to be from Finom? It is a scam. Hang up immediately. Open the Finom app — if you did not arrange a call with Finom, report it through the in-app chat.

Fake Finom phone numbers online

Scammers post fake Finom phone numbers on directories, search engines, social media, and Google Maps. Some even list fake "Finom offices" or "Finom call centers" with contact numbers. There is no Finom phone number you can call. If you find one online, it was placed there by scammers. Do not call it.

Any phone number listed online as a Finom contact number is fake. The only way to reach Finom is through the in-app chat or by emailing [email protected].

2. Email

Finom sends emails only from @finom.co and @finom.me. Links in our emails always point to finom.co, app.finom.co, or help.finom.co. To contact Finom support by email, write to [email protected].

What Finom will NEVER do via email

  • Ask you to reply with your password, PIN, card number, or any other credentials

  • Ask you to forward personal documents by replying to an email

  • Send you executable files or ask you to download software

  • Threaten to close your account unless you take immediate action

  • Ask you to click a link to "verify your account" or "unlock your funds"

How to verify an email is really from Finom

  1. Check the sender domain. Look at the actual email address, not just the display name — scammers often use "Finom Support" as a display name with a completely different address behind it. The email must come from @finom.co or @finom.me.

  2. Check links before clicking. On a computer, hover over the link. On a phone, press and hold. The URL should point to finom.co, app.finom.co, or help.finom.co. Anything else — do not click.

  3. When in doubt, don't click. Open the Finom app directly and check your notifications, or contact support via the in-app chat.

Be careful: scammers sometimes put the word "finom" in their email address to make it look real — for example, finom@random-domain.com or finom-support@some-website,net. This does not mean the email is from Finom. Only emails from @finom.co and @finom.me are legitimate.

3. SMS messages

Finom sends SMS messages only for one-time verification codes (OTP). These are short numeric codes that you enter directly in the Finom app or at app.finom.co. Finom SMS messages never contain links, phone numbers, or urgent requests.

Scammers may send you an SMS claiming to be from Finom — for example, saying your account is blocked or a suspicious transaction was detected, and asking you to urgently call a phone number. This is always a scam. Finom will never send you an SMS with a phone number to call or ask you to take urgent action via SMS.

Your SMS verification code is for your eyes only. Enter it only in the Finom app or at app.finom.co. Never share it with anyone — including anyone claiming to be a Finom employee. If someone asks for your code, it is a scam.

4. WhatsApp, Messenger, and other messaging apps

Finom does not use messaging apps for customer support. In rare cases, a Finom sales representative may contact you via WhatsApp — but only after you and Finom have already agreed on this through the in-app chat.

A WhatsApp message from Finom is legitimate only if:

— You and Finom first arranged the contact through the in-app chat

— You can see this agreement in your chat history in the app

If you did not arrange this, the message is not from Finom.

Scammers create fake accounts on WhatsApp and other messengers using Finom's name and logo. They may contact you with offers, claim there is a problem with your account, or ask you to verify your identity. If you did not arrange contact through the in-app chat — ignore and block these messages immediately.

Finom does NOT use Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, or any other messaging platform to communicate with customers. Only WhatsApp may be used in rare cases, and only after a prior arrangement through the in-app chat.

5. In-app chat — the most reliable channel

The in-app chat in your Finom app or web dashboard is the most secure and reliable way to communicate with Finom. You must be logged into your account to access it — scammers cannot fake this channel. All support agents are verified.

Whenever you are unsure about anything — a call, an email, an SMS, a message — go to the in-app chat and ask us directly. This is always the safest thing to do. If you cannot access the in-app chat (for example, if you are locked out of your account), email us at [email protected].

6. What to do if you suspect fraud

If you receive a suspicious call, email, SMS, or message:

  1. Stop all communication. Hang up the phone. Do not reply to the email or SMS. Do not click any links.

  2. Do not share any information. Never provide your password, PIN, card number, SMS codes, or passkey confirmation to anyone.

  3. Open the Finom app and check your account. If there is a real problem, you will see it in the app — in your notifications or in the in-app chat. If there's nothing there, the "problem" was fake.

  4. Write to us in the in-app chat. Tell us what happened — even if you are not sure whether it was fraud. We will help you figure it out.

When in doubt, write to us in the in-app chat. It is the most secure channel, and we are always here to help. If something feels wrong — a call, an email, an SMS — do not engage with it. Come to the in-app chat instead, and we will tell you whether it was really from Finom.
