What is Direct Debit?
A Direct Debit is a simple and convenient way to make regular or one-off payments directly from your Finom account.
It allows your business partners or service providers to automatically collect payments when they are due. This is done by completing a Direct Debit mandate — either in paper or online format — which authorises them to debit your account.
For general information about SEPA Direct Debit, please refer to this article.
When can Direct Debit be used?
Recurring bills with variable amounts
Fixed subscriptions or memberships
One-off payments
How to set up a Direct Debit
There are two types of Direct Debit mandates: private and corporate.
Private mandates typically require no extra steps. However, corporate mandates (also known as B2B mandates) must be registered with the financial institution before the account can be debited.
To set up a Direct Debit using a B2B mandate:
The creditor completes the mandate form.
You sign the form.
You send it to us for processing.
The creditor may already have a suitable form. If not, or if you're unsure, feel free to contact us for assistance.
Once we register the mandate, the creditor will be authorised to initiate Direct Debits from your Finom account.
Can I collect Direct Debit payments from my clients through Finom?
Not yet. We’re actively working on enabling this feature and will notify you as soon as it's available.
