Finom offers its customers one of the fastest registrations on the market. But to keep this idea alive and improve our process, we're constantly looking for solutions of how to make identity verification easier for our new customers.

Therefore, we have recently introduced a new method of verification - BankIdent

What is BankIdent?

Bankident is an identification procedure that verifies your personal details via online banking.

To use the BankIdent, you need to have a personal bank account registered in Germany. For a full list of banks that support BankIdent, you can reach us via chat or e-mail: [email protected]

The verification procedure has become even easier and more convenient! Thanks to BankIdent, you no longer need to interact with an agent, which saves time and eliminates the human factor, and It’s fully digital and available around the clock.

How does it work?

Bankident is divided into three simple and quick steps. First, you have to enter your personal data and provide your reference bank account.

The data you entered during registration will be matched with the data from your bank.

Next, you need to log into your bank account and confirm the transaction with 5 cents to prove you are the owner of the account.

Finally, you receive an SMS Tan to create a so-called qualified electronic signature (QES), which completes the onboarding process.

Is it safe?

Yes! BankIdent fulfills all the requirements of the German Anti-Money Laundering Act. The service is end-to-end encrypted and all the data is fully protected. Finom does not store any data entered by you when using BankIdent.

Who can use BankIdent?

Currently, this option is available only to persons registering companies in Finom, as well as additional legal representatives.

We are already working on enabling this verification method for freelancers in the very near future.
