A quote is a document that contains the estimated price of goods or services service.

In this article, we will show you how to create a quote with FINOM.

To start creating your quote, firstly click on the red button on the left" New document" from the main dashboard.

A pop-up window will appear and from here you will have the possibility to select the option "Quote".

If you want, you can also upload the quote directly from a pre-existence XML file. To do this, just click on "Import from XML" located below these three options. If you want more information about our migration tool, please check the dedicated article from our Help Centre.

As soon as this option is selected, you will then be redirected to the page where you can insert the data for your quote.

As you can see, the layout is the same as an invoice, with the only difference being the word "quote" being displayed at the top left side of the document.

You can fill this page in the exact same way you would complete an invoice.

It is important to note that the numbering of quotes can differ from the numbering of invoices. This means that you can apply the number you prefer to your quote, even if you have already used that same number for an invoice.

Once you have completed all fields, click on "Save" located at the top right corner.

Now your quote is ready to be sent! Click on the red button, "Send document".

Here you will find different options:

  • Send the quote via email

  • Share it via Messenger, WhatsApp, or Telegram

  • Copy sharable link

All the quotes you've created can be found in the main dashboard, just make sure to select the correct type of document from the dedicated filter.

Once the quote is received and opened by the client, they will then see the below page. Here, the client will have different options: they can download a PDF, or directly approve the quote by clicking on the "Approve" button.

Once the client approves the quote, you will receive a notification and you will have the possibility to generate and issue the invoice directly from the same quote.

Once the quote is approved - you can check the status from the top right on the quote page, and you can easily generate the invoice from the same page by clicking on the blue button "Create invoice".

If you need additional information on how to create and send an invoice, check the dedicated articles.

Great! Now you are ready to create your first quote! 😀
