Quick and easy via our DATEV integration!
Under the Payment Services Directive II (PSD2), you can grant access to third-party applications to your transaction data.
💡 Important: This guide describes how to set up the connection between DATEV Unternehmen Online and bank accounts hosted directly using the Finom Payments banking license. In case you have an account with a BIC starting with SOBK, please use our guide provided under this link.
Step 1
After creating your Finom-Account, you’ll need your bank account data to setup the connection in DATEV Unternehmen Online.
Log into your account via https://finom.co/de-de/.
On the right-hand side, you can find the menu item “IBAN details”. Follow the link to display your bank account data.
After you retrieved the bank account information, we switch to the DATEV portal.
Step 2: Connecting to DATEV
Log into your DATEV Unternehmen Online account using your authentication method via https://duo.datev.de/.
Click the button “Anwendungen” in the upper right corner and select the module “Bank”.
All bank accounts set up for your company are being displayed here. Click “Bankkonto hinzufügen / bearbeiten” to add your FINOM-Account.
Enter your account’s IBAN into the respective field. All other fields will be filled automatically upon correct input of the IBAN. Confirm the data by clicking the “Hinzufügen” button. Repeat this step for all FINOM accounts to be added. Afterwards, click “Speichern” followed by “Bankverbindungen verwalten” to enable DATEV to access your account.
Select the account you want to grant access to and click “Neu / hinzufügen” in the tab “BCI-Zugang”.
Add a unique name for the access and click “Weiter”.
On the next screen, select “Access to Account Schnittstelle” (XS2A) by clicking the button labeled “Access to Account einrichten”.
You will be forwarded to a page from finAPI. This service is being used to connect DATEV and FINOM. Enter your email address connected to the account and the respective password and click “Einloggen”. Confirm the login using the FINOM app on your connected smartphone.
Upon completion, you will be redirected to DATEV Unternehmen online and see a green check mark as a confirmation for the successful setup. You may close this window and go back to the DATEV Unternehmen Online main screen.
Open the module selection and click on the item “Stammdaten”.
On the left-hand side, select the item “Unternehmensangaben”. Afterwards, navigate to the tab “Bank” in the upper selection. Next, click “Bankverbindungen verwalten”.
Select your FINOM account and switch to the tab labelled “Umsatzabholung” in the lower section of the page. Tick the box next to the text “Kontoauszüge abholen und im Archiv speichern” and select “manuelle Abholung über DATEV-RZ mit HBCI PIN/TAN oder EBICS”. Click “Übernehmen”. Navigate into the banking module using the module selector and clicking on “Bank”.
The account has been added. To pull the transactions, click the green refresh button.
Choose your recently setup HBCI connection on the next screen and click “Kontoumsätze holen”. You’re all set! The transactions have been retrieved and are available to you and your tax advisor.
